Advanced Certificate and Diploma Program 2026/27

Embodied Imagination

Towards a Pedagogy of Soul Making in the Arts and Beyond

What is the program all about?

This program offers an in-depth insight into practices and deeper currents within the  pedagogy of Thomas Prattki, founder of arthaus.berlin, and former pedagogical director of the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Structured in a modular format that allows participants to complete the program at their own pace alongside other personal and professional obligations they may have, the program proposes a unique experience and well-structured process for performance makers, advanced practitioners in the performing, educational and healing arts and related fields, ready for the next deep dive on their journey of personal and professional growth. It addresses all those who seek in addition to an exploration of new practices and methodologies, a nurturing environment for inner growth, a time for themselves, a place for “soul making”.

Embodied Imagination aims to offer exactly that, a rich blend of practical exploration and a deep journey of inner growth to “rewild, ensoul and transform”. It seeks to connect you with the deeper creative potentials of your imagination, from the deep autonomous imagination we only experience in dreams, reveries, intuitions, psychedelic experiences and meditative states, all the way to your personal imagination as the sea of archetypal, cultural, biographical and personal experiences stored in your body, which shape your way of thinking, feeling, moving, imagining and creating. How can you deepen your professional practice as a performance maker, a creator of original work, an educator or a practitioner in the healing arts through an embodied experience of your more hidden imaginative and creative resources? How can your creative practice become more authentic? And how can you develop a life practice that allows you to experience your imagination as a living and breathing connection not only with the roots of humanity, but also with visions and new narratives for the emerging fluid worlds of today and tomorrow?

The program uses a wide range of modalities and creative approaches to illuminate these interconnected layers and the ways they contribute to the process of soul making, including, but not limited to working with masks, myths and movements, music, painting, poetry, intuitive movement, holistic voice work and guided drawing, storytelling, object theatre, archetypal images such as the clown, buffon and the hero:ine, meditation, active imagination, reading, writing and discussion groups.

The program is rooted in the mythopoetic teachings of Jacques Lecoq, the depth-psychological perspectives on creativity and the human imagination of C.G. Jung, James Hillman and Maria Hippius, the philosophy of imagination of Gaston Bachelard, and contemporary integral approaches in fields as diverse as ecopsychology, the neurosciences, mythology, system theory and ancient wisdom teaching

Who is this program for?

You are an advanced practitioner in the performing, healing or educational arts or work in a related field, and are ready for the next deep dive on your journey of growth within your professional practice and your personal life.

You seek an exploration of new practices and methodologies as well as an  inner journey to „rewild and ensoul“ the relationship with yourself as well as with your professional practice.

You enjoy to be part of an international community of performance makers, directors, choreographers, writers, musicians, film makers, educators, academics and healing practitioners from around the world, all interested in exploring or deepening together the art of „soul making“, of creating spaces, performances, projects and environments for the exploration of deeper meaning, purpose and new narratives for the worlds of today and tomorrow.
