This visa, known as the Short Stay Schengen Visa, is not only applicable for tourism but also authorizes you to engage in short-term studies in Germany. 

If you come from any of the 62 countries that participates in the visa waiver program, you can come to Germany for up to 90 days in a 180-day period without a visa.  

If you are a resident of another European country that is a member of the European Union (EU), you are exempt from needing a visa to enter Germany.
